Lisa Holden’s work explores themes relating to memory, and personal and collective identity. Her poetic, multi-layered images often reference 19th century art, from the Pre-Raphaelites to Klimt and Schiele.
The work by Gerard Scanlan at Art Laren this year builds on one of the themes that has reoccurred in his paintings throughout his career. A contemporary interpretation of trompe-l'oeil, triggering a re-evaluation of our norms and values.
