Victoria Kovalenchikova conceives an ideal vision of the world, inviting the viewer to take part in her universe. Absorbing information from traveling across the world, Kovalenchikova hopes to share her vision of our planet as a work of art —“a kaleidoscope of colors, a patchwork of patterns; an interconnected sphere without beginning or end.” Her Earth series is a call to action to recognize the mesmerizing beauty of the earth and save it from destruction. In contrast to Kovalenchikova’s earlier series focused on the intimate connection of life in the metropolis, this collection of work takes the viewer outside of their immediate surrounding, providing a different perspective to observe the world around us. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Russian Art (NJ), the Museum of Belarusian State Academy of Arts (Belarus), the ContemporaryFine Art Museum (Belarus), the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus(Belarus), the Mogilev Museum of Ethnography (Belarus), the Kolodzei Art Foundation(NY) among others. Kovalenchikova lives and works in Amsterdam.
